Sprinkler System 1, BC and NU 0

After a much-anticipated start to the new season.  The opening double-header between the Eagles and Northeastern was cut short by the sprinkler system flooding the infield at Jim Rice Field.  Northeastern led 7-1 after 5 innings in-game one, when the sprinklers popped up and halted play.  After a long delay, the field was deemed unplayable.  The Eags look to bounce back next weekend when they travel to Sacred Heart University.

BU 4- Boston College 4

The Eagles took on Comm Ave rival Boston University yesterday in a scrimmage that served as a tune up for the upcoming season.  The Eagles were led by great pitching performances of Andrew Dawson, Michael Stark, Jack Hodgens, Nick Assad, Brian Maloney, and Garrett Furnivall.  Some defensive errors led to 4 BU runs, but the Eagles battled back with 2 runs in the seventh and 2 in the eighth.  With both teams exhausting their pitching corps, the game was called with a 4-4 tie after 9 innings.  The Eagles now look to next Sunday, as they play a double-header against Northeastern to open up the 2014-15 season.
