The Eagles got two big wins yesterday against Northeastern University at World Series Park in Saugus yesterday, defeating the Huskies 9-0 and 8-6 in two 7 inning games.
In game 1 of the split, the Eagles jumped out to an early lead, exerting their will early with six runs in the first three innings.
Colin O’Neill racked up three RBIs on two hits, aided by a two-hit two-RBI game by Tom Clarkson, and an RBI double by Alex Gulati. Eagles steady stud Nick Assad pitched another gem, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out four in another dominant performance.
In game 2, a well fought game by both teams led to 6 total lead changes throughout the game. Led by two doubles by Daniel Lu and some timely hitting by President Jeff Elliott, the Eagles were able to bring home the victory. Starter Brian Maloney went 5 strong innings only giving up 2 ER, and new-comer James Allentuck took home the win, closing the game out with 1 2/3 innings of shut-out ball.
