In a crucial divisional game against division leader Northeastern, the Eagle offense came out in full force tonight against the Huskies. The Eagles got on the board quickly with a 5-run first inning, following that up with a run in the second and third inning. RHP Mike Stark didn’t skip a beat after a great weekend against UMASS, his devastating curveball kept the Huskies at bay. The Huskies were able to claw their way back and take a 9-7 lead in the top of the 6th inning, but the Eagle offense went back to work in the bottom half, tying the game up and loading the bases for freshman catcher Mark Beluk, who proceeded to crush a ball over the building in left field to give the Eagles a 13-9 win.
The Eagles play again this Saturday at home against SUNY Albany. This will be the Eagles first home game at Cassidy Playground in Cleveland Circle.
*Due to lighting concerns, the game was called off after 6 innings.
