The Eagles opened up division play on a positive note by winning two of three against UMASS this past weekend. The Eagles opened the series with a wild 3-2 win in extra innings. Freshman LHP Nick Assad took a no-hitter into the 4th inning, and a stellar bullpen kept the Eagles in the game. Sophomore RHP Michael Stark earned his first win of the year, and 1B Alex Gulati drove in the winning run in the 9th inning.
The Eagles kept momentum going in game two of the series. A back and forth game ultimately resulted in a 6-4 victory for BC. Junior LHP Matt Bui picked up his first win of 2015, and Michael Stark finished with the save, giving him both a win and a save on the day.
The Eagles dropped game three of the series 11-1. The Eagles play again on Wednesday against another division foe in Northeastern.
